Strength Training Advice

For Fitness Plus

Strength training advice is extremely helpful
in conjunction with your workout routine.

I start a new workout slowly so my body is acclimated to the change in the level of activity. Expect a bit of muscle soreness the next day and possibly for a couple more days, but don't stop your routine!

Strength training can help you build your muscles once you have started puberty, since hormones are kicking into action during that time.

It is, therefore, very important that proper strength training advice is given from an experienced trainer, who should be a certified fitness expert.

If you are lifting free weights or working out on a machine, it's a definite possibility that you might do something wrong and injure yourself. It’s essential that there’s someone to supervise your activity to encourage you and properly guide you for what should be done and what should be avoided.

My personal trainer is like a guidance counselor/guru to me!

The first place I checked out when I began a fitness program was at the closest high school. I thought I could join the school's weight or circuit-training units in a gym class, and become familiar with some strength training advice.

Advice can range from how much weight I should start with to ways to develop a workout routine to tips about what to eat to increase my energy level while exercising ... to how to keep the pounds OFF.

Possible Dangers

You might strain or damage your bones, tendons or joints if you overdo strength training, since these parts of your body are in a stage of growth and development, especially at a younger age. You should be very careful if you feel that something is amiss or if you hear or feel a “pop” during your workout sessions.

If this happens, you should immediately stop whatever you are doing, and get advice from a doctor. You can restart the training only after a thorough medical check-up. You might have to stop strength training for a bit of time, or modify your training program so that the injury has time to heal.

Steroids

The use of steroids to enhance performance in sports or strength training is quite common, but the health problems associated with the ingestion of steroids should not be overlooked. It is advisable to avoid taking steroids.

You must decide the frequency of your workouts depending upon how you feel. When completing strenous routines, you should give your muscles enough rest for at least 24 hours before the next session of strength training. Consider the above-mentioned strength training advice, and feel fit!
