Many times when we fail in our attempts to begin a new regimen, it's because we didn't have the proper guidlines set. By keeping these helpful tips in mind, we'll be on our way to attaining the level of fitness men and women long to achieve.

  1. Set Realistic Goals: I find that I'm most likely to succeed when I don't feel as though I'm facing an impossible task. It's okay to set the bar low at first; you can then raise it as you reach it. Don't forget to celebrate reaching each point!

  2. Allow Yourself Time: We don't become overweight in a few days. Similarly, it’s not possible to lose weight overnight. We have to commit ourselves to being in this for the long run.

  3. Monitor Progress: By checking our measurements and weight regularly, we can monitor our progress and evaluate our success. Try taking a picture of yourself in the beginning of the fitness program, that way you can spot the changes easily.

  4. Concentrate on Positives: We can't let ourselves become daunted by thinking about what we'll be giving up. Instead we should focus on the great results we'll attain!

  5. Stay Focused: Never stop visualizing what you want. Keep your goal in mind to remain on the path to success.

  6. Know Your Limits: Overdoing it is the worst thing we can do. Know your body and your limits, this way you'll keep a steady pace instead of getting burned out.

  7. Congratulate Yourself: Everyone likes a pat on the back! When you achieve a goal, reward yourself for a job well done.
